Peter, will Copilot work with these browsers: Brave, WaterFox, and Vivaldi? My operating system is Macos `14.6.1 Sonoma.

      Thanks for answering my question.

According to Microsoft, it’s only Edge, Chrome and Firefox.

But there’s no harm in trying copilot.microsoft.com in any browser.

Funny how the same newsletter has how to detect AI generated text, followed by an article on how to create AI generated text!

My wish, that all AI programs be shut down until next year. There are too many AI generated memes and images that are being posted as “real”. Unfortunately, it is being used by all parties concerned.

My Windows 11 laptop popped up with a beta version of CoPilot a few weeks ago, and I used it to help find material for footnotes to provide a couple of sentences about people (mostly public figures) whose names were given in transcribed interviews.  I always double-checked what it said, but it was pretty impressive in its accuracy most of the time and was no-nonsense in its interface, quite sleek.  It always provided links to its sources.  Then, on the Windows update that came a week or so ago, the sleek CoPilot went away and a chatty one that wanted to know my name and asked me to choose a voice for it etc., etc. came up instead.  I quit using it for that reason.  I wish they’d have left it alone.

I’ve also tried the DuckDuckGo AI, but it’s really untrustworthy, alas.  I generally need birth and death years for people, and it gives wrong ones a lot.
