AskWoody MVPNovember 22, 2019 at 10:35 pm #2009781Such a shame.
He was an amazing artist, able to draw monsters in a way that fascinated kids but didn’t frighten them.
I remember buying the video game – Gahan Wilson’s The Ultimate Haunted House – for my daughter then regretting it. We couldn’t get her off it, at the expense of her homework.
I was one of the part-time software/hardware review writers for Dennis Publishing’s Micro Mart magazine at the time. I was so impressed by the gorgeous graphics that it was the first and only computer game I have ever reviewed.

AskWoody PlusNovember 24, 2019 at 9:18 am #2010308My favorites were always “Nuts” and “Dr. Colon’s Monster”. Sorry to hear he’s passed.
My apologies, this morning I realized that “Dr. Colon’s Monster” was a Rodriguez creation and not Gahan Wilson. Still, it was very funny.

AskWoody PlusNovember 24, 2019 at 1:42 pm #2010428Truly gifted man. Married 40+ years! So sorry he had to go the way he did; so many afflictions these days are incurable…all the “Low hanging fruit” that way seems to have been picked. Now we “control” them or bash them into remission and see how much longer we can prolong life. O, for cures for such things!
