I’m having a problem where I have a link to another page and when the page is opened it is approximately 1/3rd the size of a full screen. I’ve included in the code the following:

    “window.open(‘../../external_links/My_test.asp’,’TestIt’,’fullscreen=yes’)”

The screen does indeed go to full screen but the minimize/maximize buttons in the upper right corner of the page do not appear.

Is there some other type of code I should be using?

    Thanks,
    John

I hate ANY SITE that changes MY settings as to how I use the internet. If I come across a site that does tricks that you are wanting to do, I do not return fleeand tell others about. For your sites own good , do NOT even think any more about this.

‘Full screen’ does it exactly what it means, by maximising the viewable area.
You will find a fairly concise method of defining what you want here at HTML Goodies
As someone who rarely uses a full screen for browsing, I’m afraid I must endorse Dave’s comments. Unless you have a very good reason for forcing the visiter to browse the way you want, you will always run the risk of alienating them.

As a fairly new web designer with limited javascript training, I knew there had to be a way to add back in the minimize, maximize and resize buttons. I’m glad to have a QUICK link to use for that information! clapping

While I agree that I hate someone completely controlling my window size, too, John was trying to provide his web viewers an option to his full screen. That’s why he asked for the code to provide that customization.

That’s the beauty of Woody’s Lounge – it gives us less experienced users help to provide the best product we can (and know we should be able to provide)! I’m very glad that I have such a wonderful resource!
