    I’m a frustrated Outlook user!

I know which attachments come from which sources, and I know which ones to open – or not. So periodically I will allow various attachment types – DOC, XLS, etc – to be opened by double clicking them. I do this by the “approved” method of running Outlook as Administrator, and when the dialog box comes up for open/save, it now allows me to tick the “stop asking me this” option.

And all is right with the world.

Right up until, that is, the very next MS Update to Outlook, at which point they all get reset and I have to go through the whole process again. Since I don’t habitually open OL under Administrator privileges – I’m not an idiot, after all – and I’m usually trying to get something done, this then has to wait until I am frustrated enough to do it. Usually just before the next update which resets them all again.

So is there an easier way to do it, and can I make the changes permanent?

    Cheers
    Stuart
