Hi;
I’m considering upgrading to FrontPage 2002, but am unsure about going through the company red tape to upgrade the server extensions to 2002. Our server is running IIS 4.0 and the FP 2000 server extensions. I know some features in FP 2002 won’t be available with the 2000 extensions running, but is there any harm in leaving the FP 2000 extensions?
Digging through Microsoft’s site never really answered my questions regarding hanging on to the 2000 server extensions while using FP 2002:
1. Will I be able to use background publishing?
2. Will I be able to use single/selected file publishing?
If I do upgrade the extensions:
3. There’s a knowledge base article about include components and shared borders not being displayed properly in the browser when the server extensions are upgraded, yet it doesn’t say if this is a possible, isolated fluke or if I’ll have bad borders and includes in every page! We are currently using a lot of shared borders and included pages, and this could wreck our corporate intranet.
Help, please?
Thanks,
Dave
