I have two domains and use FrontPage 2000 to publish only to my primary domain. The subdomain is managed by a different program. When I use FrontPage 2000 to FTP to my primary domain with “only changed pages” chosen, all of the pages in the subdomain are deleted and can only be recovered by the administrator from a backup. My question: Is there a way to limit the FTP action to only the primary domain? The publishing is directed to ftp://primarydomain.com/public_html and the subdomain is located at primarydomain.com/subdomain.org.
Can anybody give me some direction? Thanks!

I don’t know if this is of any help but I’ve used FrontPage for years (first 2000, then 2003) to build and maintain my personal web site. I love it because it’s so simple to use – unfortunately I could never use the “extensions” because my free web space didn’t support that. However I’ve never used its publishing feature. I’ve always preferred to use a separate FTP uploader to move my pages to my web site – very quick and easy. If you are able to access your site through a third party FTP program, you might want to try that route. You upload one page at a time directly to the web site directory where you want to put it. So anytime you revise a page, only necessary to upload that page replacing the previous page. The FTP program I use is WS_FTP_LE which was a free program long ago discontinued but extremely easy to use. A Google search shows some free ones available.

Thanks for the info. I may have to do this in the future when the extensions are no longer supported. Using the publishing feature sure makes multiple changes easy.

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
Your account can't use all available BBCodes, they will be stripped before saving.
