Using OO-Windows-shutup in the standard settings with some “orange opions” enabled leaves me wih a Spydish where setting options to use, they have gone back to the original setting when Spydish is restarted….
Perhaps is OOshutup or it’s me
peculiar

It is neither of you specifically. I found the same to be true for a “simple” Win 10 Ver 1909 64 bit laptop. I select many of the options below the “conf” items. The utility says that the changes have been made. If I reload the utility, the list of options that I had added to the pre-set ones are all unselected. Apparently the utility reverts to the default whenever it is opened.

Might the single best tool to clean-up Win10 nonsense all-at-once.  Certainly looks easy to use.

Be careful.

Downloaded and ran Spydish this morning on an HP desktop and ran into unexpected complications.

It disabled/remover HP Support Assistant and an NVIDIA app.

I have no idea what else was attacked and or removed by Spydish.

Used restore to return Windows 10 2009 computer to the state it was in before running the app.  It took forever to just restore the registry.

Since installing and recovering from the damage done by Spydish I have found that it also removed the text contained in my Sticky Notes.

Avoid Spydish!

The saga continues.

After working for hours to recover the apps removed from my system by Spydish and, as a last ditch effort, failing to download and install replacements from the Microsoft Store – I am left with an ugly option – recover my C drive from a backup.

you shouldn’t use it if you don’t know what you’re doing. Just uncheck the option “Remove all pre-installed apps” and none modern app will be uninstalled. Really a great app

If Spydish does not automatically request to create a restore point I would not touch it with a 10 foot pole

My experience is similar to Kathy’s:

I selected all possible settings just to see what state my installation was in. I then attempted to change one of the more innocuous settings by clicking on it, which seemed to do nothing. I then tried Apply settings which shouldn’t have done anything because I didn’t change any settings. However, one of the settings in 12.0 is “Remove all pre-installed apps” (now renamed “Remove Bloatware” in 12.3).

Instead of removing just pre-installed apps, it removed *all* MS Store apps, along with any saved data for those apps. No problem, I could just reinstall them from the Store. Which is when I discovered that not all Store apps are saved in the Store library (but Candy Crush certainly is!). I couldn’t remember all of which ones were missing, and even the ones I did manage to reinstall had to be reconfigured (easy for Weather, difficult for WinOTP Authenticator).

In addition, changing some settings and then changing them back did not revert Windows to its previous behavior. Some privacy settings and windows update pages still displayed “Some settings are controlled by your administrator” when they didn’t appear before.

I’m sticking with Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4.7.1 which has a more intuitive interface and a warning to at least create a system restore point before making changes.
