    Hi,

I’m looking for a hosting service allowing 2MB uploads… the bigger the uploads, the better, but 2 megs will be just fine. I don’t need the total allotted space to be too big. All I can find via Internet searches is rubbish: either non-existent sites or sites made unusable in an obscure way so you gotta end up paying all the same. I’m not complaing about paid services, but for my simple purpose I’m not willing to pay. I only want to upload big files so I can send the link to space-tight e-mail account recipients, such as hotmail. Anyone?

    Thank you

I don’t have a suggestion for you, but a question. Doesn’t your ISP provide some amount of free web space along with your connectivity? I’ve never used any of the free services because of all the junk you mentioned. If you don’t find something satisfactory in the free market, there ARE lots of hosting services in the $5 to $8 (US) per month range.

        Hi Al,

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately my ISP does not provide hosting space. I don’t know how things are in the US, but here besides the paid Internet Access industry there is also an industry for “free” conectivity, i.e., the company provides the Internet Access, you gotta pay for the telephonic connection. I’m not sure how exactly this works for the business to be profitable, but I think that these ISPs get conectivity from major traffic carriers which, in turn, are major telephony carriers & providers. There must be some kind of agreement between them that gets both parties happy.

So all I get from my ISP is the so-called Free Internet Access and the Mail Service, also for free. No hosting.

And as regards paid hosting, I don’t find the benefits good enough to justify the money, little as it is. If I can come up with a good free service, perfect; otherwise I think I’ll manage as I’ve been doing so far.

        Thank you
