I run Access databases over an NT network with the backend mdb on the server and frontend mde on workstations. Recently an accounts package was installed on the server. this uses Foxpro as its db and since installation the Access databases run very slow or stop whilst Foxpro is running.

Does anyone know of any reason why installation of Foxpro has affected Access? Any advice?

What version of FoxPro is involved? Having two databases running at the same time can really suck up resources, so you’ll have to provide more information about what FoxPro is doing when the application is “running”. You could also take a look at the processes in Task Manager to see what percentage of resources the FoxPro app is using. That might give you a clue.
