• Format behavior (Word 2000)

Word 2000 running on XP pro wants to change the formatting of entire doc rather than the selected text. We have repaired repaired Office, uninstalled and reinstalled and at least one doc still exhibits this behavior. I have suggested renaming normal.dot and seeing if there is a change.

It appears that both formatting and use of styles is misbehaving. I thought I saw a combination of well behaved and errant changes while looking over client’s shoulder.

    Has anyone encountered this behavior?

    Thanks,
    Jester

For each style, go to Format/Style/Modify & untick “automatically update”. Gary Frieder posted a macro that will do this for all styles about 2 years ago. See post 85123

By the way, go to Tools/AutoCorrect/Autoformat as you type & untick just about everything in there or you will have strange occurrences
      Cheers,
