The problem of Word changing internal hyperlinks (on your own computer or intranet) to a relative address began at least as early as version 2000 and has been bemoaned in past threads. Some posts that might be worth reviewing:
Update paths in INCLUDETEXT et al. (Word 2000/XP) (macro solution)
post 435111 – create a hyperlink base so that relative links at least are relative to the correct thing
Hello team
Your help is really appreciated.
I think that by setting the hyperlink base property to “.”
all my hyperlinks to local drives appear absolute c:whateversomewheredocname.doc
links to my network appear computernamefolderfoldeerdocument
Importantly my code can loop thru the hyperlinks and locate the docs.
Thank you for your help.
Geof
