When I receive e-mails from a mate he has a sliding signature at the bottom with his name etc, this signature slides in from the right and travels to the left to be left justified.

I have been able to recreate this function by cutting and pasting, my question is where can I download the font to create the sliding action. Or what other program do I need.

If it’s mail in HTML format, it’s probably scrolling text – a feature of HTML. See Scrolling Text Marquee.

I’m curious about what you cut-and-pasted. Could it possibly be an animated GIF that he puts at the end of each of his emails?

I think you have it Al, I’m beginning to think I am getting out of my depth. I upgraded from Office 2000 to 2003, now I don’t have Frontpage. Not that I ever knew or how to use the program. Just looked interesting and I thought I would give it a go with the guidance of the experts.
I do not have a clue at what to do with the code from the previous post.

As I said I don’t know what I am doing but I went to the scrolling text copied it and selected view source, below is part of what I extracted.

It looks from my fun today that it is a marquee, what do I need to create the beast?

I can’t begin to tell you how to generate email using Outlook, but attached is a sample text file with the code needed from Hans’ link above to scroll MY name from left to right across a page. If you were to paste that code into “some” HTML editor and preview it, you’d see what it looks like. (I swapped the foreground and background colors and direction of scroll.)

On the subject of how to use it in YOUR email program, we may have to switch to the Outlook forum for that one.

You are a champion, I have learned a lot to-day. I actually have your name scrolling across an Outlook 2003 message from left to right, dark blue text on a white background. I wish I had not retired????

Thank you again, to all those who have assisted me on this project and to my selection of components for a new system, it was ordered last evening.

        …I wish I had not retired…

[/indent]Oh, I dunno ’bout that one. I’ve been “retired” for 15 years now and I’m busier than a bee every day! grin

Sounds like you’re making progress, so you may not need to read this thread over in the Outlook Forum: post 596,188. Whatever the case, continued good luck. And have fun setting up your new system!
