OK. I admit it. I’m old. The font size in Windows Explorer is so small that I can’t read it without putting my face closer to th screen. Have thought about installing lips there. Is there a way to increase the font size displayed in Windows Explorer in the following three places:
    1. Address
    2. Folders
    3. Name

      Hi Rick:
      1. Right click the desktop & choose Properties.
      2. Click the appearance tab.
      3. In the Scheme box, type a name like “Current” or “Default” & save it.
      4. Now go through the different options, such as icon size, spacing, etc. You’ll see some options for font size, type, etc. Change something & see if you like it. You can always go back to the default. When you like a change, save it with a new name, like “Rick’s 1”, “Rick’s 2”, etc. That way you can keep making changes & if you don’t like something, you can go all the way back.

      That’s what I did (except I didn’t name mine Rick’s laugh). I’m up to Phil’s 7.
      Cheers,

Hmm. Thanks, Phil. I’ve been there and couldn’t find a place to adjust the font. There must be somewhere to do that…

          Hi Rick:
It depends upon what you’re trying to change.
          1. Open Explorer so you can see the change.
          2. Under “Item”, scroll to “icon”. You’ll see a font size near the bottom of the dialog box (probably 8 or 9).
          3. Increase it & click Apply. The text will increase in size. Make small adjustments because you’ll be able to see fewer items on the screen, of course.

You can do the same by looking under “Item” for Active Title Bar, Inactive Title Bar, Menu, Message Box, Palette Title, Selected Items, & Tooltip. You’ll have to play around for awhile. Also, remember that you’re screen resolution will affect the size that you see. It takes some experimenting.

          Cheers,

Ah, yes, Grasshopper! Playing with the font attributes under the Icon setting in Control Panel/Display has accomplished most of what this most unworthy acolyte needed. Many thanks, Phil, for showing me the way to enlightenment!!!
