• Font including an applause/clapping hands glyph

Maybe someone knows of this, or is better at Googling than I am, but I’m trying to find a font (in the Wingdings/Webdings line) which includes a simple glyph/character of two hands clapping. The closest I have come to what I want is a graphic :

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Is it actually part of one of the Wingding/Webding font sets ??? It’s not listed here.

By “a font in the Wingdings/Webdings line” I really meant one that was mostly non-alphameric characters.

If the required glyph was already in Wingdings or Webdings I would hardly have needed to ask the question!!

I have a quick look through some signing fonts (as used by the deaf) but found nothing.

Is there a specific reason you want it as a font? e.g. – does it need to be scalable as a font would be?

I would like it to be scalable, and it seems (to me!) that a font would give better results than (say) a JPG…

Depending on the host document/rendering engine, vector clip art might be the next place to look.

Sorry BATcher – thought I had an answer for you (had similar problem 7-9 years ago).

I used to have a free font creation software to convert small picture .gif’s into loadable TrueFonts. I can not find the referenes or remember the nameof the software.

The best I can find is How to Make Fonts – Tutorials to Create Fonts.
Maybe this will help in converting an existing picture to a loadable font.

I found this – do not know if it will actually do for you or not – looks like H is the letter http://www.fontspace.com/su-lucas/sl-sign-language

        Hi Ed

My wife was deaf (still is but not my wife) and I learned sign language and this set looks great except the C is round the wrong way. Strange that somebody took all the time and effort to do this and made such a basic mistake.

British sign language (and yes there is different languages for each Country) uses the right hand as the pointing hand and the left hand the ‘descriptive’ hand as you can see in all of the other glyphs.

If a vector image would do you may like to use this attachment.
