On my Windows 7 system, I have just created Windows 10 installation media on a USB flash drive using the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool (MediaCreationTool1909.exe). After the tool had finished, the following folders were left in my C: partition on Windows 7: $WINDOWS.~BT, $WINDOWS.~WS, and ESD. Running Clean up system files > Temporary Windows Installation Files removed the first two folders, but it didn’t remove the ESD folder, which is empty. Can I just simply delete this folder?

I hope you have created a full image copy of your Windows 7 before the upgrade to Windows 10, as you have just removed the possibility of restoring, within 10 days, your system back to Windows 7 in case you don’t like, have compatibility software problems, hate the forced Windows 10 updates/upgrades, hate the monthly bugs…..

He created the installation media on a USB. Did not install.
