My son’s having problems with his Win 10 HP Desktop. It is apparently having issues with Focus Stealing, So “when an application needs your attention—or when it simply wants to annoy you—it steals the focus from the application in which you’re currently working. This leads to frustration as you flip back and forth between windows.” That is quoted from Microsoft® Windows® XP Registry Guide (https://www.microsoft.com/mspress/books/sampchap/6232.aspx#102) It happens with some of the games he’s playing, plus win Explorer, and text documents, Firefox and Torch and Opera browsers, Windows Media Player etc. Apparently there was the facility in XP to fix the problem, but it was left out in later versions. Even Microsoft haven’t been able to help. When it happens, there is no specific window in focus, but the colored bar across the top changes to a gray colour. So we haven’t been able to determine what program is the culprit.

Does anyone have any possible solutions for not terribly computer literate people? If I have it right, I think the above is a registry tweak for XP.

    Cheers, Keith.
