Greetings. It looks like Microsoft is at it again – fixing things that they don’t admit are broken!

I’ve had for some while now a problem with the reminder service, which wouldn’t start. The best I could glean from here and elsewhere was that if I put everything into a new PST file, it should go away. Well, I never got around to doing that but last night I patched outlook with the latest security fix and guess what! This morning, all my reminders have sprung back into life.

So it never was a problem with the PST after all, and Microsoft appear to have quietly fixed something without telling anyone.

Still, at least it works now.

    Cheers.

Reminders are a glitchy thing in Outlook, hence the switch CleanReminders… here’s the KB 286166 – CleanReminders Switch from Outlook…

The fix may have run this switch or changed a registry item that cleaned your reminders.

Here are some other switches for Outlook that you may be interested in reading up on (my favorite is the CleanViews) KB 296192 Outlook Switches… Enjoy… trish

Possibly true, Trish, but I had run Outloook with as many different switches as seemed useful and nothing seemed to make any difference. Still, it works now so I’m fairly happy.

        Cheers,
