Before I had to reformat my system, I had Firefox Sunbird Calendar configured so it would open when I turned on my computer. I have reinstalled it but can not figure out how to get it to start up with the computer. Thanks for your help.

      Assuming you have XP.

Windows Explorer | Docs & Settings | All Users | Start Menu | Programs | Start Up

Drag & Drop a copy of the exe file into that location.

      Reboot. Should start with Windows.

Followed your directions but it still does not automatically load when the computer starts. Any other suggestions. And yes, I do have XP.

Try doing the same thing but this time, sub your user name folder for all users .

Still no luck. It shows in the STARTUP section of the System Configuration Utility but does not start up. Do you suppose I should uninstall and reinstall Sunbird Calendar?

              Worth a shot !

Uninstalled Sunbird and then reinstalled it. Then added SUNBIRD.exe to STARTUP in first ALL USERS and then my user listing. Nothing worked. Could TEATIMER from Spybot be involved. Otherwise, can you recommend another calendar that will start up with the computer and remind me of birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Thanks for all your help and Happy New Year.

              Trebor,
I use this little calendar utility that will sit in the notification area and you can customise it many ways. Also has a checkbox to start it automatically when windows starts and more.

Thanks Viking Bob, does this calendar have a “reminder” feature where it will alert you about birthdays, anniversaries, etc?

it has a place to add these things to the annual calendar and of course, it shows up on the monthly display but I don’t think it has a pop up reminder to alert you to an upcoming event? hmmn

Hi Viking 33, Did you see DIEGO’s suggestion about SUNBIRD – it worked. Just wanted to let you know and again say thanks for your help.

You can do that with Outlook if you have it. (Outlook Today | Customize Outlook Today)
Assuming you have XP.

Windows Explorer | Docs & Settings | All Users | Start Menu | Programs | Start Up

Drag & Drop a copy of the exe file into that location.
Never used Sunbird, but in case it is not a single EXE file requiring no installation, perhaps it must launch in the same folder it was installed to (to check for & use other program files maybe). So if this is the case, instead of dragging a copy of the EXE file, try copying it (Ctr+c) and then pasting it as a shortcut (right click | paste shortcut) in the location(s) Bob suggested. If done right, you should see the shortcut in Start | All Programs | Startup. Let us know if this works.

        HTH.
