Firefox quits after initial startup (Firefox 3.0.3)

Yesterday, Firefox began shutting down. Have no clue why

I am running Vista Home Preimum.

I un-installed the security updates that installed on 11-12-2008, but to no help. I do not get an error message, just that Firefox quit working….

Any Ideas?

If not, can you describe in more detail at what point you have problems? For example, is it related to certain web sites?

When it crashes does Firefox offer to send an error report, it it does there should be a link that shows you the details that will be sent. If you do get an error report can you look at the details that are being sent to find any reference to stack, signature or stack signature. If you post the results here I may be able to track down the reason for the crash.

After a little fishing around (in Firefox safemode) I basically dis-abled the add-ons. I have Bit defender running, and it had installed the web phishing tool bar. Disabled that one and all works good.

I think I will let Bit Defender AND Firefox know….
