Ever since around version 32 of Firefox, whenever I click on a link or even a bookmark the little circle goes round and round and pages don’t load completely or just get hung up. My solution has been to right click the address bar and hit enter, bingo, the page opens right up. I am stumped, I think I have played with about every setting. Ideas? Solutions?

AskWoody MVPMay 18, 2015 at 11:50 pm #1505280Bugs like this might be down to ‘Automatically detect…’ in Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings; if the box is checked, uncheck it, restart Firefox and test.
Firefox has parallel Options to this, (Alt) Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Connection > Configure how… > Settings. Both should be setup the same way, an unchecked ‘Automatically detect…’ = No proxy. Changes here might require a restart of Firefox before they become active.

AskWoody LoungerMay 28, 2015 at 9:11 am #1506718Hi JWoods from Oregon,
Yes !
I also changed
from: AdBlock+ (after many years)
to: uBLOCK ORIGINAs you said,
uBLOCK is much lighter (= faster browsing in Firefox & Palemoon). But I use the version called:
uBLOCK ORIGIN (not simply “uBLOCK”).Apparently the “ORIGIN” version
(maintained by the first author of the addon),
is much better than the forked version (simply called: “uBLOCK”).You can read the comments for either version,
on the Mozilla Addons site:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/?src=ssSF99
– Pale Moon 25.4.1 and FF 37.0.2
– Ubuntu Linux 12.04 (32-bit)
