I have Firefox ver 3.0.4 and am wondering if anyone knows how to go back more than one page? In IE, you can choose to go back any number of pages via a drop down menu. Does something like this exist in Firefox that I haven’t found yet?

    Thanks in advance,
    Deb

Well, you’re a bit behind in versions, butI don’t think much has changed. The back button should reveal quite a number of previous pages. If yours doesn’t let us know.

Thank you….sometimes I just need someone to point out the obvious. I was more intent on looking for a dropdown arrow beside the Back button that I truly didn’t see the tiny black dot beside the Forward button. Thanks for pointing that out Big Al. Other than having my glasses adjusted to see it, all is well:)

Firefox 3 has a combined back/forward button that contains one drop-down list. You can use it to go back/forward through your sites. If the button is not there see http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Back+a…ons+are+missing

I don’t suppose there is a way to have separate buttons is there? Not a fan of the combined button.

        Thanks,

There is an add-on that creates separate buttons (NoUn Buttons), but it will still have a combined drop-down list. I do not know of any add-on that will give separate drop-down lists for back and forward.

Dump Firefox. Use Opera. The toolbars are almost infinitely customizable and includes back and forward button with and without dropdowns

Thanks, but I don’t think so. I did have a look at Opera but found the widgets very lacking compared with Firefox addons.

              That’ll be because widgets aren’t addons…

Not sure what you mean. What I’m saying is that I tried out Opera last year and a lot of functionality I am used to was missing. Have things changed a lot in six months or so with Opera?

              Cheers,

              Chris

I’m not sure if we want to hijack this thread, but briefly:
Add-ons are things that add functionality to Firefox. (Like adblock or the button splitter mentioned above). In my experience, the ones that I am tempted to install cover the built-in functions in Opera (like adblock etc)

              Opera widgets are described here

An alternative to what Al and Tony wrote about:
In contrast with IE you can use right-click in Fx just anywhere in that area, all over the button. There is no need to try to click on the small drop-down if one doesn’t want.

Just an alternative if one want to exercise both mouse buttons.
