I know there’s a Common Dialog ActiveX control for Access and that Ken Getz wrote a better API call for a Dialog control, but is there anything that approximates the Find Dialog Box that is part of Windows Explorer. Either an ActiveX control (MS or Third Party) or an API call that would do this? Thanks

The CommonDialog control is just a wrapper for the CommonDialog API calls. I take it you’re looking for something that allows you to enter a string to search for and then returns a treeview of the resulting finds?

After reading some of the posts when I downloaded Getz’ API call I realized that the CommonDialog used the same Function, but not nearly as easily. I originally used the GetOpenFile function thinking that was what my customer wanted. They are actually looking to use the Find Dialog box that is part of Windows Explorer. They are looking to find Word files by passing a variable from a ComboBox. scratch It was pretty easy with the GetOpenFile but I guess his customer doesn’t always keep their files neat and tidy. Thanks.
