Is there any way to put the entire panel for the text Find procedure up on the toolbar in Outlook 2000?

currently I have to click on the Find button, wait for the panel to appear and then fill in the search text in the box – I’d like to just have the box for the search text up on the Toolbar if possible. The photo shows what pops up currently…

There is no built-in option for this, as far as I know.

can I write a macro somehow?

it is a very common need (at least for me)

That wouldn’t be easy, if it is possible at all – there is no support in Outlook VBA for it, as far as I can tell.

(Later versions of Outlook have a more convenient search option)

I don’t remember that huge panel… In Outlook 2003, I press Alt+i and a slim panel opens with the insertion point in the box ready for me to type. Is that keyboard shortcut available in Outlook 2000?

Would this be the same as using the CTRL+SHIFT+F[/color] shortcut key combination?
      (It’s been a while since I used Outlook 2000.)
