It’s been awhile but I am trying to use filter by form for a date search. When I enter =>”9/1/07″ & =<"9/30/07" in a date field I get an invalid error message. In the past, I thought I used to see an "And" tab that would solved this problem but I only see an "Or" tab. So, I'm stuck. What am I doing wrong?

      Try

      Between #9/1/07# And #9/30/07#

Hans, that got me started in the right direction. Filter by Form does not like the # characters but it will accept the double quote characters instead and it worked. I appreciate your help.

That Access didn’t like the # characters indicates that the field is a text field instead of a date/time field as I had assumed. It is dangerous to use a text field to store dates – comparisons will be alphabetic instead of temporal.

Hans, you are right. When I imported it from Excel the column was type General and it looks like it converted to a text data type in Access. I need to change it to a date data type. Thanks!
