When I click on the ‘Open with’ dialog, the window includes some applications I don’t want there. The attached ‘open_with.jpg’ shows OmniPage Pro as an option. That should not be there. Is there a way to remove it?

There’s a tool here that claims to do that very thing. Tool # 7 – OpenWith Editor, in the RegVac set. HTH.

I’m just interested in why you say the OmniPage Pro application “should not be in” the list of applications available for opening jpegs.

It’s meant to be a list of applications that might be useful, and I can imagine that being able to open a jpeg directly with your OCR software could be very useful sometimes

I never want to open a JPG file with OmniPage Pro. I cannot imagine wanting to OCR a digital photo. Some people might but not me. I guess what I should have said was how do I remove it from the list of recommended programs. I don’t care if it shows up in the list of other programs.

I have received some jpeg images of pages of text and I can do a OCR of them.
One can use a new camera to copy a page or more of a book. It is one on the latest tricks for the “Family History” researchers. Some places will not allow one to copy a page or charge way to much.

I can appreciate that. As I said, some people might want to OCR a JPEG image but I don’t.
