File opens in online layout view (97 SR2)

Every day I am sent an rtf file that I open in Word. Lately when I open it, it opens in online layout view. The source and type of the file has not changed. Other documents open in normal view. How can I change it so that these rtf files also open in normal view.

In the case of a .DOC, the last “view” setting usually is saved in the file. I’m not sure whether this is true in .RTF. Does the file originate from Word?

I will check next time the document is created before it is sent to see what view it is in. The document is created from an access database and saved as rtf in word.
