    hi all y’all!

    as usual, a quick question, if i may. what is the file extension for outlook express e-mails? i’m trying to find the darned thing so that i can save, backup, whatever you want to call it, all my husband’s e-mails. he uses OE, whereas i use outlook. i figured that since outlook uses .pst that maybe OE might use .ost—–WRONG!!! brickwall

    all i want to do is make sure that all of our e-mails are backed up, because just as sure as they aren’t, one of us will need something. any help that you can send my way will be greatly appreciated. if i have asked this before, i apologize (even though i checked my posted before i even thought of asking.) wink

    ’til the next time, y’all take care and God bless.

    smiles-
    ladyleadfoot!!!

      Hi Ladyleadfoot,
      Been a while since we “conversed” here.

      The files are .dbx types.
      If you follow this link it will give you some insight to backing up or copying these files.

      Outlook Express stores e-mail messages in .dbx files. By default, these .dbx files are located in the following folder:
      Documents and Settingsuser_nameLocal SettingsApplication DataIdentitiesidentity_numberMicrosoftOutlook Express

      The Outlook Express sent and received messages data is located at:
      XP = C:Documents and Settings{Username}Local SettingsApplication DataIdentities
      98 = C:WindowsApplication DataIdentities

    You can use BBCodes to format your content.
    Your account can't use all available BBCodes, they will be stripped before saving.
