Every time I open FE to access a file, the computer refreshes Quick Access and it is slowwwww.  I right click on a file to copy/move it, and the process is slowwwwwww.  I have a new, very fast computer and it should not be taking this long to work on my files from the FE.  Also the preview pane is slowwww displaying a preview.  Sometimes it doesn’t show a preview at all.  What’s going on and what can I do about it?  Thanks

I’m guessing your computer is running Win10?
Could you give us some information on the specs of your computer? How much RAM, what processor, do you have a HDD or SDD drive?

Do you have a network connection in your Quick Access or a mapped drive?
      Is that network connection slow?

      cheers, Paul

      Indexing problem?

I have the same problem. I’ve used FreeFileSync for years to sync folders between hard drive and USB drives, basically for backup, but then I use the USB to sync the folders to home computer so home and office have same up-to-date files. But for the past few months, it’s sooooo slooooooow. It’s the same problem on all my computers, 3 laptops and a desktop. They’re all Windows 10 and I wish I’d paid more attention as updates were installed, because I sure suspect a Win10 update is behind this. If I’m lucky, I’ll get 300 kb/sec transfer speed over USB3 or older USB2 ports, after it sits there at 0 for awhile thinking about it. Have tried different USB stick formats, NTFS, FAT, exFAT, no difference. I have too many other things going on in life to spend hours trying to diagnose it. Had high hopes I’d find out it’s a common problem with an easy fix. Will keep searching.
