Does anyone know the syntax to insert the full path and name of the database into a report footer

Set an unbound text box’s equal to: =currentproject.name

Or you can use CurrentDb.Name, which returns the full name and path as well, but only works on ADPs if you establish a permanent reference to the DAO 3.6 object library. It will work on MDBs regardless.

The following can be used as a data source for a text box to show the file path and database name for a report:

=CurrentProject.FullName

For earlier versions of Access, or for Access 2000 with a reference set to the DAO 3.6 library, you can use CurrentDb.Name to accomplish the same thing.
