not really, the sigs are files stored on the hard drive – that’s why they don’t update correctly.

have you tried editing the email template and adding the date field to it? not sure if VBA will run from in editor mode, but if so, an auto macro could update the field for you. (i don’t use wordmail, can you tell? smile)

Thanks for the suggestion. It turns out that it is quite easy to create your own email template in OXP. The only problem I found was that I had to revert to sending replies and forwards as attachments. Otherwise, the signature info wound up in the middle of the reply.

I constructed an email signature with a timestamp that worked in Outlook 2000. It only works when you use Word as your email editor. I used a DATE field. In Outlook 2002, the field is inserted, but doesn’t reflect the correct time. Instead, it shows the time when the signature was created. I can update the field and get the correct time, but I don’t always remember, making this feature very dubious. Is there a way to force the field to update automatically, that is without hitting F9?
