On the Mac version of IE you can put a few favorites on a toolbar. Is there any way to accomplish this?

      Yes!

When you add a page to favorites, they’re dropped into your favorites tab, located on the left side of your browser window.

click on View, and make sure there’s a checkmark next to ‘Favorites bar’.

Then open your favorites tab, and drag the favorites you’d like in the bar up to the favorites bar.

If you turn the favorites bar off, then on again, you’ll see where to drag them to.

      Hope this helps!

When I click on View, there is no Favorites to check or uncheck. But View/Explorer Bar/Favorites is checked.

Then when I have the Favorites open on the left side, I can’t drag them up to the main toolbar. I get a no-no sign.

Is there supposed to be a favorites menu to check? Or am I missing something? I can move the favorites around in the left window, but I’d like to have 2 or 3 on the main toolbar or just under it.

          What version? 5?

          That’s what i’ve got on my backup, and I see a View/ Favorites Bar…

Let me see… Click on Favorites, then toolbar favorites.. see if you can drag those from the left into that window instead..

Are you sure you are not using the “Links’ toolbar as a “Favorite” toolbar?
I also don not have a “Favorites” toolbar not even in IE 6.0

I have delete most of the MS provided links in the “Links” toolbar and have added the ones I use, i.e., Woody’s Lounge, Google and a few others.

Thanks guys! I think I’ve got it. I do have a “Links” Toolbar”. It was just an arrow by the Address Bar. I moved that up and now see how I can fix things up.

Why doesn’t MS let you customize Explorer menus and toolbars more? I’ve got IE 5.5 on my laptop. It’s the same as IE5.0. IE 7(?i think) on my Mac is much easier to use.

I usually like to rearrange the menus. Take things out that I don’t use much. Then add some things that I use all the time to the toolbar.

In most other MS applications, you can customize and add keyboard shortcuts. When you go to customize toolbars in IE, the choices are only for the toolbars, and they’re pretty limited. For example, if I wanted to put the synchornize or import on the toolbar, I can’t. It’s not an option.

Not just a toolbar problem, but I’d like to have a print preview and be able to take out images when I print a mostly text page.

Another thing that I’d like to do, again not a toolbar problem is switch the search button from MSN to profusion or google.

              Thanks for listening.

Ok, I am using IE 6.0 Beta, most of these things can be done in it. If I can remember right that at most of these items can be done in IE 5.5 also.

You can rearrange the menu since 4.0, you can drag each link or folder up down the list as to where you want it. But if you do a right click select sort the menu will be sorted.
About “synchornize or import on the toolbar” I am not sure what you want here.
With the Search check out the options listed in the search window.
Print preview is in 5.5 and 6.0

To get up grade to 5.5 go to Ms IE home page
You can also get to the IE6.0 download page from there, just scroll down and it will be the big 6.0 image on the left side of the page.

I have been using 6.0 for some time on Windows 2000 and on Windows XP with all of the builds that I have installed, and is working great.

Favorites bar??? I don’t even understand this. When I make a ‘fav’ – I use ‘add/organize’ and place page into whatever folder that is already set up (i.e. Games-pogo.com).All is located on leftside of screen in IE. I have never even looked at View until this topic was posted. I have no idea what it looks like – Favorites Bar.
