Sorry to post so often lately…I really do appreciate all the help.

I have been getting Windows Protection Errors lately when I shut down. Not so awful bad (although I would like to isolate the cause.) Now, I’m getting the dreaded “blue screen”! The exact #’s are: 0028: C192A6AD in VXD APIX (01) + 0000269D. Has anyone heard of this one? It has occurred since I installed a new Soundblaster Audigy audio system, but I’m not sure if that’s the culprit…my machine has been sluggish & weird of late. Thanks.

You probably have Adaptec® Easy CD Creator(tm) version 3.5, 4.0 or 4.1 installed on your system. This software probably came with your Iomega®, HP®, or other branded CD RW drive.
The Easy CD Creator program uses certain APIX.vxd functions that are also incorporated into Windows 98. This alone is not a problem. However, when CD Creator is installed, it renames Microsoft’s APIX files. When these files are renamed, compatibility issues arise between CD Creator and other peripherals (such as ImageMate) that use the APIX functions. To rectify the problem, please follow the instructions below…

        Thanks.

I restored the file from my Win98 CD using System File Checker (I had gone to the Adaptec site but could not navigate around for some reason.)
