I’m trying to locate some RELIABLE information on spyware from Ezula.com. From what little I know, it can come in the proverbial backdoor. hiding We think it came in unknowingly when a user downloaded some screensavers from Thememaker.com.

So, does anyone know about Azula.com or Thememaker.com? hairout Who knows, maybe the two sites work together. Or, maybe Thememaker is passing it on without knowing about it. I know that our McAfee didn’t detect it. I would appreciate some information on the product(s).

And, yes, in our tight-control environment it should not have been downloadable but it was done on a new PC with a test image. bif

A search at Google yeilded tons of results, several refer to how to clean your system of this bug, and how to deal with it’s effects. I would categorize it with Gator, When U, and other spyware apps, none of which I worry about, since I use and regularly update AdAware.

As to obtaining more information, one good resource is Spyware Info, a site dedicated to the abolishment of spyware everywhere.

      Hi, Loretta ~

In the April 22 issue of PC Magazine there was a Spyware: It’s Lurking on Your Machine article and a good head-to-head spyware detect app review.

In the detailed table of common and serious forms of spyware on the loose, eZula/TopText is listed as a moderate to severe nuisance and danger level as it alters web pages to add new links from selected phrases to sponsors
