Extract paragraphs + table from documents (Word 2000)

Good day everyone,

I have a set of documents (with fixed names in a fixed folder). I need to extract part of the each documents and combine the information in new file every week. The position of the information that need to be extracted are identified using bookmark. For example, I need to extract 3 paragraphs from A.doc that has a hidden bookmark at the start of the paragraph 1, table from B.doc that has a hidden bookmark just before the table and picture from C.doc that has a hidden bookmark just before the picture.

I have been doing the copying and pasting manually so far and I am looking for codes that can save me hour (the information come from 37 documents). Could Loungers kindly provide some pointers and codes?

Oh, no, the bookmark is just at the beginning of the relevant chunk of text and doesn’t cover the whole thing. Let me say, as an aside, that if a single bookmark were defined in the source document(s) you could use the InsertFile field code to extract the text into your new document. InsertFile is “bookmark aware,” but not with the type you have.

There are many code examples here in the Lounge of how to automate the opening of numerous documents. There also are examples of how to select between two bookmarks. At the moment, I have to leave the keyboard and can’t search for them, but I can assure you that it is possible to do and the technology is around here somewhere.

Did you mean IncludeText field code? I am not able to find InsertFile with Word Help.
