Other than a rule, which does not exist, is there any place within Outlook 2003 where a trigger might be found that is causing a copy of each email sent to go to another party within the company? I made sure the client has no rules but can’t find any other spot within Outlook 2003 where there might be a setting to do something like “in addition to the addressees always send a copy of outbound mail to”…..

Perhaps this is the result of malware, a corrupt Outlook profile or some such but I am stumped as of now and wonder if anyone has run in to this before?

    Thanks,

    Jester

Is this on Exchange server? In Exchange, the administrator can specify things like that.

There could also be an orphaned/corrupted Rule still on the Server. Close Outlook and all Outlook windows and processes, and from the Start | Run command box run (note space before slash):

      Outlook /cleanserverrules

Any possibility (in an Exchange environment) is that one of recipients is a delegate or delegator of the other with send-on-behalf-of privileges? Check under Tools | Options | Delegates | Permissions look for Editor. Also check that the Mailbox isn’t shared; look under Tools | Email Accounts | View or change existing email accounts | Next | select the Exchange Account if more than one account | Change | More Settings | Additional Mailboxes section of the dialog.

Yes, to both posters, this is an exchange environment and I’ll check into the suggestions about command line startup and “hidden” delegates.

        Thanks.

Does this mean that if you send mail to yourself a third party (= second party) receives a copy?

It means any email sent to anyone is also sent to the person not intended.

There are no delegates, no rules but I am waiting for an update on running the clean server startup option.
