Is there any drawback to using alot of registry settings in an application (SaveSetting/GetSetting) and making frequent changes to these settings? I was wondering if this perhaps bloated the registry, or had some other adverse affect?

There might have been a problem in older Windows versions (Win 9x), but I don’t think there is in Windows 2000/XP/2003.

This was one of those things where you vaguely remember something, but aren’t sure exactly what it was. I thought I remembered something about the registry getting too big, but as you suggested, it probably had to do with Win9x versions.

Conceivably you’re thinking about application performance – as mentioned by this long-standing M$ engineer – but then is an INI file an attractive alternative? HTH
