Extensions Disappear (Firefox 1.06)

This morning, all my extensions disappeared. I restored the whole Application Data/Mozilla folder from last night’s backup & it didn’t help. Then I restored it from a 2 day old backup & got back all my extensions. Now their gone again. They are still listed in the Extensions dialog box, but they’re not functional. Anyone hear of this problem? (I will check on the Firefox forum, too). Thanks,

Hi Phil

Most problems with Firefox are profile related, with the profile becoming corrupt. The simplest solution would be to create a new profile, copy certain files from your old profile (see restoring your data into a new profile) and then re-installing the extensions.

Thanks, Tony. I created a new profile. After I did so, I reinstalled all my extensions, plus a few others mentioned in the previous thread. After I reinstalled, I noticed that there was a warning on the All-in-one-sidebar 0.5.5, which said that if you don’t uninstall an older version first, then the new one WILL destroy your profile. A few days ago, I clicked on Update all from the extension dialog box. A little too quick on the trigger. But unless I wanted to read about every single update, I’d probably do it again.
