Am I going crazy? I’m sure there used to be a command used in macros to close the current database leaving Access open. The textbook supplied by the Institute where I teach asks the student to create a command button on both a menu form and switchboard to Exit to Access…I can only manage Exit to Current Database window or Exit Access. I would assume an error in the text but can’t quite convince myself that Exit to Access is not possible! hairout

Try Application.CloseCurrentDatabase in code. In a macro, use a SelectObject action, specify and object but not a name (i.e., Table, but leave the object name blank) and set the In Database Window to yes. The next action should be RunCommand with a Command of Close.
