So I know you can create a distribution list in Active Directory by easily following these steps. However, all the distribution lists I have done this way included (as members) only those people/users who are in the domain.
Is there a way, in either Active Directory or via Exchange Server 2003, to create a distribution list that will show up in GAL, but that includes addresses outside the domain? We are wanting to create an “emergency contact” distribution list that would include some key people’s home e-mail address or texting to their mobile phones… So how can I create it to include external e-mail addresses, yet control it (viewability and sending permissions) like I do other distribution lists via Active Directory?
