In our CPA firm we use Excel links to Word documents for audit reports. In some instances, when the Excel link is copied to Word, the font size on the page changes and the copied link goes off the edge of the page. We have tried changing the page setup in Excel to “Fit to page,” “Adjust to 100% normal size.” We consistently use Arial Font 11 pt. We have tried to make sure that page setups and fonts are exactly the same in both Excel and Word. Sometimes when we copy the links it works fine, but in the documents where the link doesn’t copy over correctly, it changes fonts and page size differently for each link. How can we fix this?

Check Format>Style and click on Modify. Make sure that Automatically update is not checked. An Auto update changes the style whenever a manual adjustment is made to an entry.

Since no one else answered, I’ll give this one a shot. I’ve never heard of a fix for this specific problem, so I’ll go with my standard “what to do when I don’t know what else to suggest” option, which is to have you clean up your hard drive.
