My changes to certain settings in Tools/Options, the zero-value display, for example, are not “taking.” When I retrieve the file next day, I’m back with the zeroes. This does not happen on my system at home, or at any of the other places where I use Excel. What might be causing this annoying situation? TYIA

Do you have a file named Book.xls in your startup directory that has that option set?

Try removing all files from the XLStart directory and see if the problem persists. If not, move them back one at a time until you find which is causing the problem.

Also check to see if you have an Alternate Startup directory specified and check there.
