Excel 2003 – links break

I have a coworker who has created a spreadsheet with links to an external website. They links keep breaking. She opens the file, makes an edit (not to a link), re-saves the file, and closes it. The next time she opens the file, the links look like links (blue, underlined text), but they aren’t links anymore. She has to recreate the links virtually every time she opens the file.

Any suggestions?

If this only happens to your co-worker, than this might help:

In Excel, click Tools, Options, General, Web Options, Files, uncheck “Update links on save”.

Not sure if this is happening to anyone else. She is the only one who works on this file. I will, however, have her check the settings you mentioned. Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll let you know if that fixes it.
