Do any of you have experience with the Ewido Antispyware suite? A friend of mine is advocating its use, after it picked up several nasties that his other antispyware programs missed. He said that Ewido reported MS Antispyware as malware, but that he could live with that false positive because of the others it found. I’d never heard of Ewido. Apparently, you can try the Pro version for two weeks, then, if you opt not to pay the $29.95 (US), Ewido reverts to the freeware version. So, Loungers, do you know anything about this program from first-hand experience? Ewido

AskWoody LoungerSeptember 23, 2005 at 11:02 am #974762Thanks for the heads up, Charlotte. I’m thinking of retrying Trojan Defense Shield — if it’s still available. I used it years ago, in 1998, before there was a real need for such a program, but now might be a good time to revisit it. While I’m at it, I think I’ll see if I can dig up my old copy of Proxomitron (sp?), and see if it still is effective. Thanks again.

AskWoody LoungerSeptember 22, 2005 at 6:17 am #974526Personally I go for Eric Howes’ advice on the matter of spyware.
There’s a review of Ewido on this webpage. Later — this was also pointed to by one of the posts in the thread Hans mentioned!
