This freeware HTML editing suite has been around for quite a while, and has received lots of good reviews.

Evrsoft 1st Page 2000 is suited to all Windows platforms, and 1st Page 2000 [v2.0] contains a lot of updates.
Evrsoft First Page / 1st Page 2006 HTML Editor / Website Builder [v3.0] is for Windows NT/2000 or XP only.

I see that version 2 is finally out. They’ve been promising it for three or four years…

Yep yep it’s appeared at last. Things seemed to have panned out in a rather odd way though. v2.0 is the new 2000 product, and v3.0 is the (brand?) new 2006 incarnation. The latter is for XP et al only, and is a much bigger download than the former, which is for all Windows versions. I can’t figure it all yet.

          Alan,
I had some of the same questions. I did download 1st Page 2000 last night, but was too tired to install and check it out. The older version had some real problems with non-standard tags; with any luck, they will have straightened these out. From what I could see from a brief look at the Eversoft site, the improvements are in the areas of support for CSS, etc. I’m going to see if it’ll run on XP Pro SP2 first, then will port it over to my Win98SE machine.

1st Page 2000 is listed as free at this site.
But 1st Page 2006 is not listed as free. Only a beta version is available. It seems that 1st Page2006 will be shareware. Am I reading the site correctly?
