I can only really comment on Norton Anti Virus and advise that it is one of those Win95/98 programns that does not run under Windows Me. There is a new version available that does work.

I suspect HPSTATX might have something do with a Hewlett Packard product, possibly a Printer or Scanner.

I’ve run both NAV 2000 & 2001 under Me, without any trouble (but I definitely recommend the upgrade to 2001). The one thing that could definitely cause trouble is doing the upgrade with NAV installed. Microsoft tell you to disable anti-virus protection before upgrading, but I would recommend uninstalling NAV and then reinstalling after a successful upgrade.
Also, having tried it both ways, I would always do the upgrade over 98, and not tried for the ‘clean install’, which gave me problems every time.
I have heard of problems with HP printers and Me. You might want tot try removing the printer through Device Manager and re-installing it. If that doesn’t work, HP are very helpful at dealing with technical queries through their website (http://www.hp.com or .co.uk and no doubt others), in my experience.
