I have 2 PC’s that are hard wired to a router and both are joined to a homegroup Until 2 days ago, everything worked just the way I wanted.
I now get the following message on my PC (A) when I try to connect to my wife’s PC (B):
Windows cannot access \CONNIE-PC Check the spelling of the na……..etc
“Error code: 0x80070035 The network path was not found.”
PC B can see and share files with PC A – no problem.
Both PC’s are using Win 7 HP (one is 32 bit, the other is 64 bit). Both using Windows firewall & MSE.
Things I have tried: I have run SFC /scannow – nothing
I have done system restore (2 different dates before the problem) – nothing
I have run the HomeGroup troubleshooter – (only get the above message)
I have “unjoined”, then rejoined the Homegroup – nothing
I have checked each PC for “correct” sharing & security settings
I have checked the drivers of each network adapter – (current)
I have checked that HomeGroup Listener & Provider is running on each PC
I can ping each PC using name & address
I can see each PC under Network in windows explorer. Under Homegroup I see Connie (CONNIE-PC) and then only the folders Documents, Music and Pictures. Should see shared folders & drives.
I’ve run out of ideas. What am I missing here?
