When installing a program is reports error ‘2739 cannot find javascript run time’ which is I think a regsvrjscript.dll access problem.

When I enter it in Run I get a report that windows cannot find regsvrjscript.dll

I am running Windows 7 so where can I find regsvrjscript.dll and how do I install?

I have run virus scans and all patches installed and Secuni PSI reports 0 problems.

What version of Windows 7 are you running? 32-bit or 64-bit? Have you verified that the program you are attempting to install is Windows 7 compatible?

Is your version of Paragon Hard Disc Manager Suite 2010 32bit or 64 bit as according to their site there are two versions.
And yes latest version is win7 compatible.

Is your syntax correct? Try regsvr32 jscript.dll (note the space betwee “regsvr32” and “jscript.dll”).

It was 32bit and downloaded it again and just the same message:-((

I missed the space (new specs needed!!) and tried again at least it is not telling me that it is missing, now reports the module jscript.dll was loaded but the call to dllregisterserver failed with error code 0x80004005.

      Hi Peter,

(A.) The following is from this MSDN Microsoft thread .

      “try the following steps:

      1. Run command prompt as Administrator NOTE: right click cmd and select ‘run as administrator’
      2. Change folder by issuing the following command :

For Windows Vista 32-bit: cd C:windowsSystem32 NOTE: should work for Win7 as well.
For Windows Vista 64-bit: cd C:windowsSysWow64
      3. Type the following command and hit Enter:

      regsvr32 jscript.dll
      4. Type the following command and hit Enter:

      regsvr32 vbscript.dll
      5. Run the installer again. ”

(B.) If the above does not resolve the issue, read and implement the fix here to reset all permissions to default . This same procedure is referenced further down in the MSDN Microsoft thread mentioned in (A.)

Many problems that generate the error code in your situation have to do with user permissions being out of whack; therefore the fix in (B.) applies to a number of apparently different circumstances.

      Hope this helps.
