Epson Printer Prints blank Page daily

Recently, my Epson printer started, once or twice a day, printing a page with nothing on it except at the top it prints the message:

GET / eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1

Host: localhost

Can anyone tell me what this is for, if I need to do something, and more importantly, how do I stop it.  I did try checking for software updates using the Epson update but it said I am up to date.

GET is a command used by FTP software, but it has been sent to the printer. It is possible that the printer is also a scanner and the scanner software is misconfigured.

Assuming you don’t have FTP software installed, my usual fix is to reinstall the drivers straight from the manufacturer’s website.  Windows updates tend to remove printer software, especially scanning software.  Epson also offered two different scanning apps on its website for the printers I have reinstalled lately.  You need to know the model number of the printer to download the correct drivers, or you may find more issues like this after reinstalling.

eSCL, when I looked it up, is the driverless scanning protocol.   If you have airprint installed, you could try removing that first just to test whether the printing stops.
