After using Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 (and Windows 98 SE) for a while, I notice a number of empty buttons (no icons) accumulating on the taskbar. There can be quite a few of these, which of course close when clicked on.
This issue has been dealt with in this forum before, but the suggested solution relates to a hotfix for Windows 98 ( KB Article Q260067 Windows Stops Responding During Shutdown with Mapped Drives ) but that hotfix has not been applied to this PC (I’ve searched for the inf file referred to in the KB article and it is not found).
Any other ideas anyone?
