It used to be, whenever Outlook checked for new mail, a little icon popped up in the lower righthand corner. I think it always showed up during checking, but for sure it would be there when downloading new messages. And it would say something like, “Downloading 1 of 3 messages”. I can’t remember exactly, and it never shows up anymore, so I can’t check to see exactly how it did behave. It does still pop up a message after it has downloaded messages, telling me I have new messages in my inbox, but if there were no messages to download, then I have no idea it was even checking.

I don’t know what I did to lose that feature, but I would like it back. Anyone have any ideas? I am using Outlook 2007 SP3 in Windows 7. I have tried searching for clues on the internet, but can’t find anything.

      Hi,

      Open Outlook,

Click View menu > Click Status Bar

I think you might have turned this off by accident. Let us know if that solves the issue.

Yes, thank you. That was it. I figured I had done something, but I didn’t know where to look. Thanks a bunch!
